sekiwake 関脇
The third rank, just below ōzeki.
Sekiwake is the third rank, just below ōzeki, and one of the named sanyaku ranks. The November 2026 banzuke had two. A demoted ōzeki drops to sekiwake, and he gets his old rank back if he wins 10 bouts in his first tournament there.
