Kokugikan

The national sumo arena in Ryōgoku, Tokyo.

The Kokugikan is the national sumo arena in Ryōgoku, Tokyo. Three of the six tournaments are held there each year, in January, May and September. The current building opened in January 1985, and the Sumo Museum is on its ground floor, a minute's walk from JR Ryōgoku Station.
