A wrestler's win-loss record, shown as white and black marks.
What hoshitori means
Hoshitori is a wrestler's win-loss record for a tournament, shown as a row of marks. A white circle (○) is a win and a black one (●) is a loss. Wins and losses by default get squares instead (□ and ■), and missed days are marked や.
We haven't yet checked this kanji against the Japan Sumo Association's own pages.
