Banzuke

kimarite

The winning technique. The JSA's official list has 82.

Kimarite is the winning technique, the officially recorded way a bout was won. The JSA's list has 82 techniques, plus five results the winner didn't make happen, such as the loser stepping out on his own. Two are far more common than the rest: from January 2013 to September 2026, oshidashi and yorikiri together made up half of all results.

yorikiri
A frontal force-out while holding the belt. One of the two most common wins.
oshidashi
A frontal push-out without a grip on the belt. The most common win.
kinjite
A banned move. Using one means an instant loss.
fusen
A default. One wrestler doesn't turn up, so the other wins without a bout.
